#WeStandWithDreamers

On September 5, 2017 it was announced that the federal government plans to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA), which has caused concern for many across the country. This decision will have serious implications for many individuals, including our University of Michigan students, who are either directly or indirectly impacted by this policy. We in CAPS want to clearly say that DACA students are welcomed and valued members of our campus community, and we support them and their presence on this campus.

The Media, Sexual Assault, and Self-Care

CAPS recognizes that heightened national attention on sexual assault and sexual harassment impacts the student body at the University of Michigan. For some, the acknowledgement of ongoing interpersonal violence and social injustice may be healing, validating, and normalizing. For others, the content presented in the media may bring up painful memories of their own experiences and/or the experiences of loved ones with sexual violence.

SUICIDE PREVENTION IS POSSIBLE

Whether you’re suicidal or know someone who is, know that there is help and there is hope.

Messages of Hope

Play Day Videos (Winter 2012-present)

Since the Winter of 2012, CAPS annually displays a strong presence on North Campus while hosting Play Day, our largest outreach event of the year. This interactive event promotes psychological wellness by providing a space for students to reconnect with play. Various campus partnerships and therapy dogs are specifically resourceful in implementing a successful Play Day. Through these partnerships, students are able to reap the psychological benefits that succeed from play by building resilience as they interact with various elements of the event.
