Approach to Outreach:
As I am in my first year of the MSW program as a community change and National Community Scholars student, I am on a journey of discovering my approach to outreach. Outreach for me is about bridging the gap between the population and their access to care and resources. From this, creating more agents of change through increased access to education and services. The practice of outreach is vital to implementing positive and meaningful change in our communities and I am very much looking forward to being at the forefront of these efforts.
Approach to Wellness:
Living and acting intentionally has been a driving force of my personal wellness. Spending deliberate time outdoors and hiking is how I have spent my summers since 2009 and this is where I learned how I can be the most whole. This intentionality applies to the people and environments I subject myself to, as I know people and places play a significant role in my being. One of my favorite quotes is, “I'm going to make everything around me beautiful and that will be my life - Elise de Wolfe”. I take this as beautiful being not perfection, but joy, mess, triumph, and passion. This speaks to my approach to holistic wellness.
