Why Am I A Peer Counselor
As a transfer student and someone who has experienced both physical and mental health issues over the past couple of years, I know how difficult it can be to find your way at the University of Michigan. I got a lot of help when I was struggling and I hope to give back to those that may need help and guidance. Also, as a pre-med I see how stressed my peers are (including me sometimes) and I hope to be a good listener that can empathize with other students in similar stressful situations, no matter the area of study. The U of M can be a scary place both academically and socially, but I hope that I can work with students to improve their experience and maybe even discover new passions.
