2020 Social Work Virtual Summit: Call For Propsals

The Unique Role, Strength, and Value of Social Work In Counseling Center Training: 2nd Annual (Virtual) Summit for Social Work Training in College Counseling Centers

Monday June 1st & Tuesday June 2nd, 2020

College Counseling Center Social Work Professionals involved in training from across the nation will gather virtually for “The Unique Role, Strength, and Value of Social Work In Counseling Center Training" on June 1st and 2nd, 2020. Originally slated to take place on the campus of the University of Michigan, COVID-19 has meant that this event will move to an online virtual format. Presentation sessions will be 45 minutes on Zoom and can include (presenters choice) virtual participation (Q/A, Breakout Small Group Discussions, Zoom Chat, etc) among workshop attendees.  Summit hosts will provide technology support for presenter(s) and attendees.

Possible topics include but are not limited to: 

  • Establishing and/or expanding clinical social work internships in CCCs
  • Successes and challenges in maintaining and growing social work training programs
  • Supervision
  • Multiculturalism and Anti-Racism Work
  • Post-MSW Training Alongside Master's-Level Training
  • Administrative and Other Stakeholder Buy-In to Social Work Training
  • Known and Unknown Training and Practice Challenges and Opportunities in COVID-19

Proposal Requirements

To submit your Summit proposal, you will need to provide the following information:

For each presenter (primary and co-presenters):

  • Name
  • Email
  • For each presentation the following information will be needed:
  • Abstract - 200 word maximum
  • Learning Objectives (minimum of 2)
  • Primary Presenter credentials
