Who Are We?

CAPS in Action’s mission is to connect University of Michigan undergraduate and graduate students who are passionate about mental health awareness. We achieve this through activities focused on education, social bonding, and activism.

With its four committees—EducationEventsProjects, and Publicity—CAPS in Action provides unique opportunities for students to contribute, collaborate, and make an impact, ensuring that everyone can find a meaningful way to support and enhance the mental well-being of the campus community.

The 4 Committees of CAPS in Action

Education

Our Education Committee serves as the ambassador of CAPS in Action by coordinating CAPS 101—a presentation that introduces different student organizations on campus to CAPS services—and hosting CAPS Chats, where CAPS staff engage directly with CIA members.

Events

Our Events Committee is responsible for organizing and coordinating CAPS in Action’s activities throughout the year. This includes planning tabling events, social gatherings, and collaborative events with CAPS staff to promote mental health awareness.

Projects

Our Projects Committee is dedicated to developing impactful initiatives, like Leaders At Their Best, which create easily accessible and visually engaging content that highlights the importance of mental well-being and community care.

Publicity

Our Publicity Committee manages CAPS in Action's branding and social media presence through the CAPS platforms. They work closely with the Projects Committee and Events Committee to promote and advertise events and initiatives, ensuring broad outreach and engagement with the campus community.

Are you looking for a community passionate about mental health awareness? Would you like CIA ambassadors to deliver a CAPS 101 presentation to your organization?
