Approach to Therapy:
I utilize an integrative approach to psychotherapy informed by current relational psychoanalytic theory, interpersonal, and existential therapy. I use time-limited psychodynamic affect-focused therapy in conjunction with skills-building, cognitive-behavioral, and mindfulness-enhancing techniques tailored to meet the needs of each student. My goal is to create a collaborative therapeutic relationship in which students feel safe to explore issues, and supported in their endeavors to make positive life changes.
Approach to Wellness:
In the context of a product, success, and goal-oriented larger cultural milieu, I like to slow down and engage in process and care-oriented group and solitary activities, such as rowing on the Huron River with my family, cycling, taking wandering nature walks, cooking, reading fiction and philosophy, and writing.
