Approach to Outreach:
In my role as a Community Organizing Intern I want to use outreach as a tool to decrease stigma around mental health issues and to encourage students to seek the support they need to succeed and thrive both at the university and in their personal lives. I hope to connect people to services, as well as to each other, informing students about self-care, self-worth, resiliency, and agency.
Approach to Wellness:
I believe that when individuals feel empowered, supported, and affirmed in their worth they are able to tackle life’s stressors from a place of strength and perspective. Mental health is essential to achieving this. Learning to engage in activities that promote well-being, like play, therapy, self-care, time management, and supportive relationships, is an extremely important skill to utilize throughout one’s lifetime.
