Approach to Outreach:
During outreach efforts, I strive to use educational measures to assist in preventing crises as well as building community. Through outreach and education, I hope to help normalize mental health concerns among college campuses, especially within the LGBTQIA+ community, in order to help deconstruct barriers, reduce stigma and encourage help seeking. I value working in a diversified team atmosphere where various perspectives can be utilized in collaborating effective outreach. I believe in a strength based approach to outreach that encourages self and community empowerment. I hope to support underrepresented populations through advocacy and program development. I look forward to cooperating with others through community organizing to ensure marginalized populations are receiving adequate resources that acknowedge and respect all the intersections of identity.
Approach to Wellness:
Practing wellness and self-care is essential to maintaining balance between my work commitments, and my personal life. Some ways I engage in self-care is by going for walks with my dog, rewatching my favorite movies, listening to music, stretching, utilizing alone time for self-reflection, eating good food, taking a nap, or hanging out my friends and family.
