Approach to Therapy:
As a social worker, I have always taken a systemic and environmental approach to therapy. I am interested in the narrative individuals tell about themselves and seek to help them connect with the external as well as internal influences that shape their unique situations. I think that when we are more self aware and aware of the external factors that influence how we think, feel, and behave we can make informed and hopefully healthier choices for ourselves.
Approach to Wellness:
I enjoy being busy and I am involved in a variety of activities that help me keep mentally and physically healthy. I like to garden in the summer, golf, swim, and kayak. This past year I was involved in a No Kid Hungry Bake Sale that raised money to fight childhood and family hunger. I sing in my church choir and in the Sistrum Women’s Chorus in Lansing. I play the violin and have been a member of the Tecumseh Pops Orchestra.
