For Online and Hybrid Program Students

While there can be many benefits to being an Online and/or Hybrid Program student, there can also be unique challenges including adjustment, time management, motivation, lonliness, and many more.  Students who are enrolled but are not able to access CAPS services on campus can still benefit from CAPS providing the following supports:

Technology & Apps

  • Togetherall - A safe, virtual space to anonymously interact with and seek mental health and wellbeing support from their peers.
  • Calm App - Calm is a meditation, sleep and relaxation app, with unique audio content, available in both the App Store and Google Play store
  • Stressbusters App - A free app tailored to meet the wellness needs of U-M students by providing tools to increase calmness and focus. Tools include, but are not limited to, guided breathing meditations, progressive muscle relaxation, and sleep tips.
  • MiTalk - Self-help website on a variety of mental health topics affecting U-M students.
  • Online anonymous screenings - Completely anonymous and confidential, fill out a brief questionnaire on a topic(s) of choice: overall well-being, mood changes, worry, sadness, trauma, drinking habits, gambling behavior, eating habits, and substance use. Upon completion, you will be provided with your results and recommendations.

Other Supports

  • Clinical Workshops & Groups - Gain support through a clinical process group or clinical workshop led by CAPS therapists to address a variety of mental health needs.
  • Caps Care Management - Connect with a CAPS care manager to navigate the process in identifying longer-term resources in the community as well as local resources that may help support your needs.
  • Urgent and Crisis Needs -Students can call (734-764-8312) or stop in (Michigan Union 4th Floor) to request same-day urgent/crisis appointments during CAPS open hours.
  • CAPS After Hours -U-M CAPS After Hours offers clinical support by a mental health professional to any U-M student or any person concerned about a U-M student whenever CAPS is closed.
